Dr. Garcia is a board certified family physician practicing in Sacramento since 1992. Born and raised in the Bakersfield area, he is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, UC San Diego School of Medicine, and he completed his Family Medicine residency training at UCSF- Fresno. In this unique environment, he learned how to treat patients who face many challenges in both their health and personal lives. In 1991, Dr. Garcia and his wife Carolina settled in Sacramento to raise their family in the Pocket area.

Dr. Garcia’s parents were immigrants who insisted on education and the nurturing of human dignity. River Bend Medical Associates was founded on the principle that all people deserve culturally compassionate care. Dr. Garcia speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys giving back to his community through educational and leadership activities. He works with the Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Physician residency program and volunteers in youth sports and other community organizations. In 2015, Dr. Garcia had the honor of being named Attending Of the Year by Mercy General Hospital and Dignity Health for his work with the residency program. Additionally, he serves in leadership roles in other physician organizations. Dr. Garcia values his community and practicing family medicine because he values family.
