What to Know Before Your First Visit
We understand that navigating a new doctor’s office can feel overwhelming. To make your first visit as smooth as possible, we’ve outlined some key things to expect:
Before Your Appointment:
- Flexible Scheduling: We strive to match you with the provider of your choice. If you need an appointment sooner, we can offer you an option with another qualified clinician.
- Insurance Verification: We’ll check your insurance eligibility during the scheduling call. If you’re not in-network or assigned to River Bend Medical Associates, we can help you contact your health plan.
- Preparing for Your Visit: We’ll send you a reminder with details on what to bring to your appointment, such as your insurance card, government ID, a list of current medications/supplements, and any copay or deductible payment.
- Streamlined Check-In: Save time on arrival by pre-registering online through our Athena Patient Portal. Our friendly pre-appointment receptionists can help you complete this process if you’d prefer.
At Your Appointment:
- In-person Appointments: Arrive 15-20 minutes early for registration. We’ll have you review and sign some routine forms, like our privacy policy and insurance waiver. You’ll also have a chance to confirm your demographic information.
- Telehealth Appointments: You’ll receive an email with a link to your secure video call and instructions. Our virtual receptionist, Monica, will check in with you a few hours beforehand to answer any questions. Make sure your camera access is enabled on your device.
